Mission, Vision and Values

Emergency Response Assistance Canada (ERAC) is a not-for-profit corporation created by industry for industry, and is a subsidiary of the Canadian Propane Association (CPA). As an emergency preparedness and response organization, we are instrumental in assisting hundreds of oil & gas and transportation organizations requiring emergency response plans (ERPs), including Emergency Response Assistance Plans (ERAPs) and environmental emergency (E2) plans.

We are professionals in designing ERPs, managing the documentation and, most of all, in implementing those plans whenever and wherever needed. Using the most highly trained and skilled responders, and industry best practices and equipment, we are prepared for any flammable liquids or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) incident by road or rail.

In addition, we provide emergency response from coast to coast and offshore, in Canadian territorial waters, for flammable gases and stationary tanks. ERAC is ready to assist its Plan Participants by keeping their company, community and clients safe.

We provide more than 400 emergency response plans to our 320 Plan Participant members from the flammable gases and liquids industry, which include wholesalers, producers, transporters and retailers.

The mission of Emergency Response Assistance Canada (ERAC) is to provide safe, timely, effective and compliant services.  These include

  • dangerous goods response plans, drills and exercises to our Plan Participants,
  • dangerous goods responder training,
  • first responder training, and
  • emergency response.

To be the highest quality emergency preparedness and response assistance organization in Canada.
