Canada's Dangerous Goods Emergency Preparedness and Response Organization

Incidents involving flammable gases and liquids can happen at any time, any place. When they do, Emergency Response Assistance Canada (ERAC) is there 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can count on us to help your company with all of your emergency response needs: we have 24 trained and assessed response teams, 30 remedial measures advisors, eight technical advisors, six home base coordinators and an emergency call centre, all of which are ready to respond anywhere in Canada.

We are a not-for-profit emergency preparedness and response organization that develops, implements and responds to Emergency Response Assistance Plans (ERAPs) for our more than 340 Plan Participants.

Our Plan Participants consist of oil and gas producers, retailers, wholesalers and carriers of LPG and flammable liquids that require an ERAP approved by Transport Canada under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG Act 1992). ERAC also provides emergency response assistance to LPG stationary tanks greater than 450 liters, which are not regulated under the TDG Act.

ERAC Plan Participants pay an annual membership fee based on the volumes they transport and number of provinces in which they operate.
